We've Have A NEW Drift Program Partner!
Hey I lowered mine this past weekend kit said it was a 5 inch drop but it barely dropped it maybe 2 inches my springs were about the same size as yours right here and I had the same shock extensions do you think to go lower I need longer extensions or shorter springs? Can you please answer and what do you think I did wrong?
You might have to play with the ride height sensor length. They might be inflating the rear air suspension to raise it to where they think they should be, which isnt as low as you want it.
@@mike_stanceco that’s what I was thinking how many inches do you think I should put it at so that it gives the lowest height possible if that makes sense ? Please help me out lol I’d really appreciate it
Just upgrade the swaybars, thats all u need to do. Hotchkis is what i have and it stiffened it up and the handling is so much better. You caan set the rear height with a scanner
How is it holding up so far?
Great so far! Stained a spot with some engine oil that sat for a few days (i was unaware) but no chipping, flaking, etc.
did the rear main seal leaked again?just got myself a V thats leaking real bad.Previous owner said he changed the seal but it won't hold long
how yo prep the concrete floor ?
Hey Mike, did you ever get an answer for the uneven wear on the LS7 clutch you pulled out?
looks great
This is more a diary than a how-to video. You skipped every part of the process that we can't imagine already. I guess a diary is valid YT content, I'm just not sure I understand who your audience is or what the purpose of the video is. No hate, just thought you'd like to know how your content is received. I'm about to undertake this task, in a borrowed garage, and I still have no idea what to do once the cradle is out. Back to google I go...
Remove subframe: 2 shock bolts, 2 brake hoses, exhaust, driveshaft at diff, 4 subframe bolts & lower. Remove bushings: Set rubber on fire until the inner sleeve falls out. Use sawzall to cut outer sleeve. Hammer out sleeve. Clean surface. Install new poly bushings. Repeat subframe removal backwards to reinstall. Thanks for watching. 🙂
Do you like have any ideas of mods like for us like like owners who have CTS?
Watching your videos make me want to pull my V back out. It’s been sitting for like 7 years😂 was just over working on it all the time.
Do it!!
good shit bro .. keep stepping up !
Thank you bro!
Is the reason you needed to add the airbags that the rear shocks are not able to compensate for the additional hitch weight of a trailer?
The rear shocks do fine without in my configuration, so I didnt necessarily need them, but I wanted something to stiffen up the springs a little bit while towing and also not make the factory air bags work as hard.
The Drift V is a beast!
Thanks!!
Thanks for the videos, Mike.
Thanks for watching!
Love the V content
Great video! Thank you for the support! We will have these added to our website shortly!
That the 8709r1?
Yep!
how did you get the flange off the ctsv diff from to stop moving while taking the bolt off
I used the ugga dugga maker (impact gun)
Hey so I have an v and I’m putting an lq9 motor in it are all the parts plug and play or what will I need off my old motor to make the lq9 fit and do the motor mounts off my v fit the lq9 and water put and more ?
You'll need adapters to mount it into the car. The iron blocks use different mounts than the V mounts. Something about how many bolt holes there are from one to the other on the block side. Otherwise, I would use your whole accessory drive on the LQ9 from your stock engine to keep things simple.
What would be a good cam for drifting stage 3 btr or stage 2 btr red hot ?
Hey man!! Love it!! Good shit your good at what you do. Anyway i can get some advice from ya before i pull the trigger and buy a v. Im all ears v1/v2/v3. Im coming from a built civic ready to move on. I would gladly pay you for any advice. I want to do this right the first time. Thanks!! Awesome video man!
Whats up!!! Ima new sub and really like your footage. Ive found you while trying to decide witch cts-v to buy. I like the looks and price range of the v2 i can actually get a coupe but like the looks kf the sedan. Ive went back and forth over the v3/v2.. any firsthand recommendations? Once i get it id like headers , exhaust and intake w tune. Any suggestions afterwards? Cams, headwork, fuel? Any transmission upgrades? Thanks love rhe channel man!
So I guess my question is, why didn't you start with the C6 knuckle? I built upright adapters for those, and they allow you to run a much wider front tire, plus they're lighter.
I can’t say I’ve ever seen anyone fit a corvette knuckle to the V1 before, especially with the difference in UCA mount style. I designed this kit to be easy to bolt on to a stock car and have plenty of angle to go out and drift.
@@mike_stanceco Maybe I'm the only one. First one to do the STS-V as well. ;) Figured by now people would've caught on and duplicated it.
I guess one of the main things you would gain from this is having the ability to make ackerman adjustments
Do you know the size of the carrier bolts that go in the front carrier subframe? I’m missing the front two and my radiator dropped lol
Keep going bro
BRO THANK U SO MUCH! I JUST STARTED ON MY NEW DRIFT PROJECT CADDY AND I NEEDED THIS INFORMATION SO BAD IVE BEEN LOOKING EVERYWHERE !THANK YOU!!
Awesome! Check out our most recent videos. We’re going to be releasing an angle kit soon. Good luck with the build!
What size are those lugs ends on the cables?
5/16 lugs
What wheels are those?
Enkei RS05-RR
What came of the diff swap?
My bushing got delivered the other day for it. Going in soon - i’ll post a video.
Did you need to shim? @@mike_stanceco
Neeed! Been looking for one !!!
Soon!!

🙏🏻🙏🏻
I know it’s probably too late but could you link where you got the exhaust from or which brand on eBay?
grey interior 🤮🤮🤮
What’s your rear end setup?
He hasn’t said if the 3.91 is in yet.. curious why there’s been no mention of it in a while
@rdsmith308 strictly due to time. i just brought it back down to FL to install. I need it in for this summer.
@@mike_stanceco ahh ok. Thanks for the clarification. Hurry up! 😅
Did you order directly from Armorpoxy?
I did!
Thanks for the video, i have might be sme issue in my 2017escalade today, first question what size the end of 2 gauge cable 3/8 or 5/16 ? 2nd questions if im doing only negative ground, without starter and alt, it will be ok? Thankyou big time, love your video broh, appreciated👌
Did you find our what are the end sizes of the wire? I have the same problem
These trucks cost toooo much money for the issues they consistently have every year.
All things considered, mine has been very good to me so far. Definitely has its quirks, but being able to diag & fix mostly everything on it myself has saved me a lot of money.
Just installed this driveshaft and I’m getting a vibration at about 75 mph doesn’t seem normal as it is a pretty aggressive vibration do you have any suggestions on what I should do to fix it also does there rear diff have to be lined up at all ?
What’s the torque specs on that bolt to the knuckle
V2 is 125 ft/lb. I stick with that since I couldn't find a V1 torque value.
Awesome drifting! You have the best V ever!
thank you!
always enjoy tandeming with you, good video ..
absolutely! cant wait to drive together again
Recently got a 05 V about a month ago and my i phone adapter for the ipod aux will charge and work off and on, didn’t know if there’s any tips you got? thanks dog
Heck yeah bud!
Needed to shake off the dust!
I need to make improvements to my burb that i recently purchased for long towing and overlanding. Im replacing the engine. Should i go with a fresh 5.3L or should i get long block 6.0L? The trans was rebuilt less than year prior to my purchase. I dont knoe if they beefed it up or just kept everything stock in trans. Burb is an 05 Z71 4x4.
If you have the opportunity, I would definitely step it up to a 6.0
I wish I watched this video a few days ago. I have the same exact truck and I just purchased a battery and now I see that I needed a flash reset
Looks awesome. Nice job!
Thanks!
I have the same one on my V! First time I’ve ever seen another one
dang! first time hearing of another one!
@@mike_stanceco wish I had more info on it but it came with the car, the seller made a point to tell me it was super rare though
What fenders are you running on your car? I plan on using this vid to customize the hood on my '97 GTO TT. Greatly appreciate your response 🙌
They’re carbon fiber Cianci/C7 fenders. Good luck with the hood mod and thanks for watching!
Did the V feel better after everything was installed?
Oh yeah! So much tighter feeling
Good to know. I just finished doing all the bushings front and back. It whooped my ass. Now I feel you about cutting bushings. Not fun.. it's a big job. Anyways.. Thank you! Video helped me out big time!
Living the dream lol two v1s beauty’s man
Thank you! Were out here tryin’
Can't wait to put this on my 07! Any plans on making an inline hydro kit?
